Geolocation

A map of where your machines are, clustered by area.

The map works. The data does not exist yet.

Real agents do not collect geolocation — the field is reported empty, along with WAN IP. Until agent-side collection lands, machines have no coordinates to plot and the map will be empty.

What works when there is data​

  • Machines cluster by area, and clusters split as you zoom.
  • Selecting a cluster zooms to it.
  • Selecting a machine shows a popup with its name and location.

Known problems​

The filter bar does nothing. Typing in it has no effect on what is plotted.

"View Details" in a popup goes to the machine list, not to the machine you selected. Find the machine by name in the list instead.

How location would be determined​

From the machine's public IP address, not from GPS or wifi. That means city-level accuracy at best, and a machine on a VPN appears wherever the VPN exits.

This page is for "roughly where is my fleet", not for locating a stolen laptop.
